The short answer: most Thermador error codes point to a temperature sensor, a control board or a stuck key, not a major failure. Reading the code narrows the fault to one circuit that a technician confirms with a meter and repairs with a a part selected for the approved scope.
Thermador is one of the most common built-in cooking brands in Lone Tree and Greenwood Village kitchens, and its ovens store faults so a technician can retrieve them. The codes look intimidating but usually resolve to a single sensor, relay or panel.
Common Thermador Codes
| Code | Meaning | Our Fix |
|---|---|---|
| E015 / F1 | Control board or logic fault | Read the fault, test and replace the board |
| E115 / F7 | Stuck key or membrane fault | Test the touch panel, replace the keypad |
| Sensor code | Oven temperature sensor open | Measure the sensor, replace it |
| Door-latch code | Latch motor or switch fault | Test the latch, replace the assembly |
| Induction fault | Cooling fan or control | Clear the vents, test the fan and control |
Sensors, Boards and Keypads
The most common Thermador faults resolve to three areas: a temperature sensor reading out of range, a control board that has lost a relay or logic function, or a membrane keypad with a stuck key that the control interprets as a fault. Each is confirmed differently, the sensor by resistance, the board by its outputs, and the keypad by isolating the stuck input.
What the Repair Involves
A technician retrieves the stored code, confirms the circuit with a meter, and replaces the identified sensor, board or keypad with a a part selected for the approved scope. On induction cooktops, a fault under load usually points to a cooling fan or blocked vent rather than the elements, so the airflow is checked first.

Thermador Is Not One Platform
The thing that catches people out with Thermador codes is that the brand is not a single engineering platform. Thermador sits alongside Bosch and Gaggenau under the same parent and borrows freely: the dishwashers run essentially the Bosch control platform and report the same E-codes, while the cooking equipment uses its own F-code set, and the Freedom refrigeration columns are their own design again. So a code you look up for a Thermador dishwasher and a code on a Thermador oven are coming from entirely different systems, and a chart for one is worthless for the other. It also means parts have to be sourced by model and serial rather than by brand assumption, because two Thermador appliances in the same kitchen can belong to completely different parts families.
What to Have Ready When You Call
Get the full model and serial number off the plate rather than telling us which series you think it is. On a brand that spans three parts families, that plate is what tells us which one we are dealing with, and combined with the exact code it is usually enough for us to arrive with the right component instead of diagnosing on your kitchen floor and coming back.
